Fierce

She got onto the cross-trainer, her legs going numb;

Her heart already beating with a post-cardio drum,

She started off slow, afraid of the reactions,

of a body almost dead, almost gone from exhaustion.

Six months, of fear of exerting herself,

and here she was now, in a gym.

10 minutes of cardio, and she felt like puking,

But she carried on because this was

inevitable.

She carried on, till she almost fainted,

But the grin never left her face.

After months of weakness, she had

reawakened the beast within,

the beast called

Fierce.
